AUSTIN — The Texas Rangers and prosecutors in Travis County will ask a grand jury to indict state Rep. Dawnna Dukes on charges of abuse of official capacity and tampering with public records, according to a report from KXAN. The news broke hours after Dukes was sworn in for the 85th legislative session, a move that surprised lawmakers after Dukes said last year she would step down from her post when her term ended. Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore told KXAN's Phil Prazan that the grand jury proceedings will start next Tuesday.
