Developers are kicking off construction on a new apartment community in Frisco.Dallas-based StreetLights Residential has broken ground on the 358-unit Margo rental community located just west of the Dallas North Tollway.The project is the third phase of The Canals at Grand Park development.The 4-story apartment project is located near Cotton Gin Road and will join almost 700 rental units StreetLights Residential has already built in the Canals at Grand Park.StreetLights started the 152-acre development in 2014 in a partnership with Dallas-based Charter Holdings and Arcadia Realty Corp.The apartment complex includes a community center, two pools, a lawn with outdoor games, athletic club and game and theater room"Our tenants tend to be very active - walkability and accessibility to neighborhood amenities are pivotal - they are looking for a great mix of features complete with modern touches," StreetLights CEO Doug Chesnut said in a statement. "The Margo continues the StreetLights vision and core design philosophy - it is built for longevity and provides a contemporary comfortable lifestyle set in a booming and highly desired north Texas community."Residential units in the new project will range from 505 to 2,000 square-feet.The Margo was designed by architects LRK and Streetlights Creative Studio.StreetLights Residential is one of North Texas' biggest apartment builders, with several high-rise projects in the Uptown Dallas area and Deep Ellum.
