K-9 Unit Catches Chase Suspect Who Crashed Stolen Audi in Southeast Oak Cliff, Authorities Say

A suspect tried to flee deputies on foot after crashing a stolen Audi during a chase overnight in southeast Oak Cliff, authorities said. A deputy attempted to make a traffic stop after the Audi was traveling over the speed limit on Interstate 20, but the suspect sped off, Dallas County Sheriff's Office said. The suspect careened into the corner of an oil change shop in the 8300 block of South Lancaster Road and took off on foot. Dallas police officers assisted in creating a perimeter and the Department of Public Safety helicopter located the suspect nearby the scene of the crash. Authorities started to converge on him and when a police K-9 unit attacked the suspect's left leg, officers were able to apprehend him near the 2600 block of Mojave Drive. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to patch up his leg and transport him to a hospital. He has not yet been identified. The sheriff's office later found out the car was stolen.  Continue reading...
