The race to replace term-limited Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings will be crowded.The filing period for the May 2019 election officially begins Jan. 16 and ends Feb. 15, but already six candidates have announced they are running — and others said they're considering it.Unlike in some other major American cities, the mayor of Dallas is not the government's chief executive — that's the city manager.
