Former Dallas ISD Teacher Sentenced to 10 Years in Federal Child Porn Case

A former fourth-grade teacher in Dallas ISD was sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison Friday for possession of child porn, the U.S. attorney's office said.Mark Stutheit, 59, was teaching at Reinhardt Elementary School in Dallas when he was arrested in June. Police found numerous images on his computer and digital devices. He pleaded guilty in October to one count of receiving child porn. He was sentenced to 121 months. Dallas ISD records show Stutheit was hired in August 2013. The investigation into Stutheit started when an undercover officer with the Queensland Police Service in Australia exchanged emails with the teacher about the sexual exploitation of children, authorities said. Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations searched his Saginaw home on June 23 and found the child pornography, federal authorities said.  Continue reading...
