City Council Unveils Plans for a $400,000 Memorial Honoring July 7 Ambush's Fallen Officers

Next Wednesday, the Dallas City Council will consider approving plans for a $400,000 memorial honoring the 5 cops who were killed in last year's ambush downtown.The money, including $40,000 for upkeep, comes from an anonymous group of donors. The proposed memorial would be located at the Dallas Police Headquarters on Lamar Street.The donors approached Barvo Walker, a local artist whose works have included sculptures for City Hall, Highland Park High School and recently, the Granville Arts Center in Garland.  Continue reading...
