An elderly pastor was recently arrested after staff at Best Buy found child porn on his computer, Hurst police said. James Rankin, 78, has served as an associate pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church, in the 600 block of West Pipeline Road, near Precinct Line Road. Police have notified church officials. Rankin previously served as a U.S. Army chaplain and a pastor at churches in Fort Worth, Amarillo and Tennessee, according to his bio on the church's website. Hurst officers arrested Rankin after they received a call to Best Buy, in the 800 block of Northeast Mall Boulevard, about 8:40 p.m. Thursday. Employees discovered what appeared to be child pornography on a customer's computer, which officers determined was Rankin's, police said.
