Seventeen men from Colombia have been arrested in a string of more than 100 home burglaries targeting Asian, Pakistani, and Middle Eastern communities in the Houston area.Officials filed 49 criminal cases against the unauthorized immigrants this week after a five-month investigation starting in April 2016.The men were allegedly part of a crime ring that stole high-end jewelry and purses in Fort Bend County, Houston and surrounding counties. It's unclear what they planned to do with the stolen property, said Fort Bend sheriff's spokesman Bob Haenel, but authorities don't believe any of it made it to Colombia.The sheriff's office and Houston police collaborated to link burglaries with similar characteristics.
