How does it work? Intelligent Transportation Systems explained
Texas researchers have developed another tool that could be deployed in the fight against wrong-way collisions. A team at Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) created a low-cost thermal camera that they say could be inexpensively deployed on roadways to detect wrong-way drivers and alert authorities. Douglas Brooks, assistant director R&D Artificial Intelligence Department at Southwest Research Institute, spoke to NBC 5’s Scott Friedman about how it works and what it would take to get the cameras onto Texas roads.
