Parrotheads rejoice, Frisco once again turns into Margaritaville as Jimmy Buffett brings his "Songs From St. Somewhere" Tour to Collin County for one night only.
FC Dallas issued a news release Monday announcing Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band, with special guest Jackson Browne and his band, will perform at FC Dallas Stadium on Saturday, May 4 at 7 p.m.
It marks Buffett's return to Frisco after some fans expressed their disappointment when Buffett announced in 2012 that he would play Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, which cramped their tailgating-style.
FC Dallas Stadium (known at one time as Pizza Hut Park) had been home to Buffett's annual North Texas Show for five years before the move to Dallas last year.
Each of those years thousands of Parrotheads would park their RVs around Pizza Hut Park on Friday for a full day of tailgating before the concert on Saturday.
That tradition continues in 2013, parking lots open for tailgating Friday, May 3 at 9 a.m.
In 2010, the Frisco Convention and Visitors Bureau estimated Buffett's fans funneled $9-$10 million into the Frisco economy.
