Ryann Jones is a familiar face at NBC 5. She returned to the station in July 2024 after previously working at NBC 5 as an intern and is now a member of the NBC 5 Weather Experts team as a meteorologist associate.
Born in Florida but raised in Justin, Texas, for most of her life, Ryann has long called the DFW Metroplex home. She attended Northwest High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Before returning to DFW, Ryann was a weekend evening meteorologist at KYTX-TV in Tyler. She then swapped Texas skies for Florida beaches, taking on the role of weekend morning meteorologist at WTLV/WJXX-TV in Jacksonville.
During her time in Florida, she earned accolades from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists for her on-air work. She handled everything from community outreach to intense, severe weather coverage. However, she finds the diversity of North Texas weather particularly compelling.
