5 Talk Street: Road To Recovery with The American Cancer Society
Nearly 148,000 Texans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year and some actually miss their critical appointments for treatment. The American Cancer Society has informed us that the number 1 reason people miss these appointments, is the lack of transportation, but the cancer society has a successful program called road to recovery to help. Unfortunately, they can’t help everyone who needs help but this month is Volunteer Month and you can change that by signing up to volunteer as a Road to Recovery driver. Carlos Avila stops by to discuss the program. To request a free ride for cancer treatment or to volunteer to drive, please visit www.cancer.org/drive.
