At UNT Dallas, there was a moment during National Night Out to acknowledge Officer Darron Burks, who was shot and killed in the line of duty just a couple of miles away from campus.

Officer Darron Burks was shot in August while sitting in his patrol car in the parking lot of “For Oak Cliff.” The non-profit’s co-founders say the mission of unity, peace and hope remains the same. NBC 5’s Candace Sweat has more.
