The 6-3, 275-pound offensive lineman committed to Vanderbilt on Wednesday, according to The Dallas Morning News, making a decision before his much more heralded teammate, defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, the top-ranked defensive end in the country and the sixth-ranked player in the nation regardless of position.
The first day a 2010 recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 3.
White will play an even more key role this season, as the Wolves lost two starters on the offensive line.
White also had an offer from Houston, where Jeffcoat's father, Jim, is coaching after his playing career ended in the NFL but the former Dallas Cowboy couldn't sway his son's teammate to come to Houston.
Vanderbilt had a bit of a breakout season last year, as they started hot in the SEC and cracked the Top 25 for the first time in ages. The Commodores have recently had a little bit of a raid on Texas, as White, should he sign, would join Argyle wide receiver Brady Brown and Flower Mound receiver Collin Ashley in Nashville, Tenn.
