Thursday's Preseason Game Between Cowboys and Texans Moved to Arlington

It was the move everyone expected to be made. Monday afternoon, it became official.

The preseason game Thursday night between the Cowboys and Texans has been relocated to AT&T Stadium in Arlington due to Hurricane Harvey. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Details on tickets, parking and more will be announced later this week.

The Texans are already in North Texas, making the trip over the weekend after their preseason game in New Orleans. The Cowboys opened up the doors at The Star in Frisco and are allowing the Texans to use the practice facility.

β€œIt’s one of those situations that sometimes it reveals that life is more important than football,” said Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett. β€œWe are doing everything we can as an organization to help the Houston Texans.”

The Texans hit the field in Frisco on Monday with more on their mind than just football.

β€œIt’s very difficult to watch your family, your friends, your city, go through a time like this and not be there to help,” said Texans defensive end J.J. Watt. β€œNot be there to go through it with them, not be there to experience it.  Our thoughts are most definitely with everybody. We hope everybody stays safe.”

The NFL Foundation will match the Texans’ $1 million contribution to the United Way Relief Fund to address the immediate needs of those impacted from Hurricane Harvey. The total contribution will support first response efforts by the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and the United Way of Greater Houston.
