Plano police said they are searching for the person responsible for fatally stabbing a 16-year-old Sunday.
Investigators said the victim and his friend, also 16 years old, were sitting on the porch of a home in the 2900 block of East 15th Street when a man walked by at about 11 p.m. The victim started arguing with the man and followed him away from the home, according to police.
The teen caught up to the man about a block away and the confrontation became physical, according to Plano Police Department spokesman David Tilley. The victim was then stabbed.
The victim's friend found him and called police a few moments later. The friend then drove the victim to Medical Center of Plano where he died, according to Plano Police Department spokesman Andrae Smith.
Police said they don't think the victim and the man knew each other.
Detectives said they are interviewing the friend to see why the fight started and to obtain a description of the killer.
Authorities have not yet released any information about the victim.
