TXDOT representatives said the westbound lanes of 635 at I-35 in Dallas reopened Tuesday night after cleanup from an earlier crash.
A commercial garbage truck caught fire in the middle of the freeway around 4:00 p.m.
Firefighters on scene extinguished the flames, but it had the roadway shut down for hours.
All drivers in the westbound lanes were forced to head either north or south on I-35E.
Police did not respond for comment regarding if any one was injured in the crash or what caused the truck to catch fire.
