Four people were injured, including three children, in a crash involving a tractor trailer Monday evening near Rhome.
The crash was reported just before 7 p.m. along Texas State Highway 114, about two miles west of the Denton-Wise county line, according to Trooper Lonny Haschel, with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Haschel said a Ford Explorer collided into the back of a semi that was making a right-hand turn.
Four occupants in the Explorer, including the adult driver and three children ages 14, 7 and 6 years old, were transported to North Texas hospitals.
The driver of the SUV was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth in serious condition, Haschel said, while the children were rushed to Cook Children's Medical Center with one child in serious condition and two with injuries considered to be not life-threatening.
The driver of the tractor-trailer had shoulder soreness but was not hospitalized.
The road was set to reopen about 9 p.m., and further details have not been released.
