Construction of Six Flags Over Texas' newest attraction, the Texas SkyScreamer, can now be seen climbing into the skies over Arlington.
Six Flags said Wednesday crews have reached the halfway point in assembling the 400-foot tower and hope to have it fully erected by Friday.
Once completed, the ride will be the world's tallest swing and the tallest structure in Arlington. Plans for the ride were first announced last August.
The Texas SkyScreamer will lift two dozen riders, sitting two across in open-air swings, 400 feet above the ground as they are spun around in a 124-foot circle at speeds of up to 35 mph. For those brave enough to climb on, the view should be unmatched.
The swing, which stands on the site of the form Texas Chute out, is scheduled to open in the middle of May.
