A prayer service was held at Thanks-Giving Square Friday for the victims of shootings at a protest in Dallas and their families.
Officials said they held the service because many community members are in shock and need an outlet where they can get together with others, deal with some of those emotions and show their support.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings requested the interfaith service and asked people across the country to stop and pray.
"I would ask if you are at home or in your home or in your school to join us at noon in that spirit of prayer to bring our city together and our country together," he said. "To heal wounds, not to create them."
