According to police, the men broke into a home in the 6400 block of Briar Ridge Lane at about 2:30 a.m. and woke up a couple sleeping in their bedroom.
Police said the homeowner was shot after he refused to give the men any valuables, according to Plano Police Department spokesman Jerry Minto.
The gunmen managed to leave the home before officers arrived, Minto said. It's not clear if they stole any property.
The male homeowner was transported to a hospital with injuries that police said were not life threatening.
Police described the gunmen as black, about 6 feet tall, muscular and in their late-20s to early-30s. They both had short hair and were wearing camouflage clothing and handkerchiefs on their faces.
Plano police asked anyone with information about this incident call them at 972-941-2148 or Crime Stoppers at 877-373-8477.
