Firefighters said a Plano man was saved from a fire at his home by a neighbor early Friday morning.
Firefighters said they responded to a one-alarm fire at the home on West Spring Creek Parkway near Rainier Road just after midnight.
Authorities said the resident was asleep inside when his neighbor saw the smoke and woke him up. Both made it out safely.
Firefighters said were able to extinguish the fire fairly quickly, but there was enough structural damage that the homeowner won't be able to stay in the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
