Passengers on board an American Airlines flight were deplaned on the taxiway after the aircraft suffered a mechanical issue shortly before takeoff.
Flight 1198 was to depart Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport for Tampa, Florida at about 1:30 p.m. but stopped on the taxiway short of runway 17R-35L.
Officials with the airline said an issue with the brakes was discovered while taxiing to the runway.
All 139 passengers were removed from the MD-80 aircraft and returned to the terminal. No injuries have been reported.
The passengers will be put on another flight scheduled to depart at 4:25 p.m. The flight should land at 7:48 p.m., about three hours late.
