Fire damaged or destroyed as many as five vehicles inside the service center of a Parker County car dealership on Wednesday night.
The fire at Jerry's GMC Buick in Hudson Oaks, near Weatherford, was discovered at about 7 p.m. after the dealership had closed for the night.
"Oh, it could have been a lot worse," said Jerry Durant, owner of the dealership.
The blaze began when a Cadillac waiting to be serviced burst into flames. The fire then spread to other vehicles that had been dropped off for service.
All of the damaged vehicles were awaiting repairs or maintenance, said Durant, who owns the dealership in the 3100 block of Fort Worth Highway, just north of Interstate 20.
Two of the damaged vehicles are considered to be a total loss, Durant said. Another sustained some fire damage, and the other vehicles in the service department sustained smoke damage, Durant said.
Anyone with a car being serviced at the dealership in the 3100 block of Fort Worth Highway, just north of Interstate 20, can come in to Jerry's GMC Buick on Thursday morning or contact the dealership then.
