Officials said the crash happened near the intersection of Alliance Gateway Freeway and Alta Vista Road shortly after 8 a.m.
There were 39 students and a driver on board bus number 619 at the time of the crash, Emily Conklin, a school district spokeswoman said.
Two students were taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries, Conklin said. She added that about 10 to 12 students were being examined for minor injuries.
None of the other students required hospitalization and were either released to their parents or driven to school on a different bus.
The bus was en route to Byron Nelson High School, with some students heading to Steel Accelerated High School, Conklin said.
District officials would be contacting parents with further details and updates would be available on the NWISD website.
