Kaufman County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a 5-year-old autistic boy, his body was found in a pond near his home.
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to a home in Able Springs just after 4 p.m. on a report of a missing child.
Kaufman County Sheriff's Department Captain Fred Klingelberger says parents told deputies they needed help finding their 5-year-old autistic son.
Deputies and members of the Able Springs Volunteer Fire Department searched for the boy and about an hour later found his body in a neighbor's pond.
Klingelberger says the death is still being investigated.
Able Springs is about 11 miles northeast of Terrell.
