A Mexican man caught at the Texas border with nearly 100 pounds of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine must serve 14 years in a U.S. prison.
Cesar Eloy Munoz Silva of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, was sentenced Monday in McAllen. Munoz pleaded guilty to federal drug importation charges.
Investigators say Silva in March 2014 drove a vehicle from Mexico into Texas via an international bridge in McAllen. Officers discovered bricks of illegal drugs hidden within the front and rear seats.
Munoz told authorities that he previously hauled narcotics to Houston about 10 times.
