Centennial Park in Irving is home to many birds, but none like the duck known as "Manny."
A few weeks ago, the Mandarin duck showed up in Irving. Nature photographer Kent Jarrett said people named him Manny.
The rare sighting is causing a lot of buzz in the bird watching community, as Mandarin ducks don’t even belong in North America, let alone North Texas.
"The true birders don’t believe he’s a bird of Texas because they live in East Asia," Jarrett said.
Where he came from remains the big question. Jarrett thinks he flew in on his own — from a zoo or aviary — or that he was someone’s pet.
