Authorities said a man escaped his pickup truck that was stuck on train tracks just before it was struck by an approaching train in Cleburne Wednesday morning. [[384844851,C]]
Johnson County Sheriff's deputies said the man was waiting on Farm-to-Market Road 917 at train tracks where a stopped train was blocking the road when he became impatient and drove around.
The man's truck became stuck on the tracks. Authorities said he escaped his truck just before it was struck by an approaching train.
The driver was not injured.
Authorities said the intersection is closed as crews work to clear the wreckage and check the condition of the railroad tracks.
County officials said the intersection is notorious for trains being stopped on the tracks.
