A large fire Saturday evening destroyed two luxury apartment buildings set to open soon near Grapevine Mills Mall.
Grapevine Fire Assistant Chief Mark Ashmead told NBC 5's Chris Van Horne that firefighters were called to The Enclave At Grapevine at 2311 West Grapevine Mills Circle around 8:45 p.m. The caller said the third floor of an apartment building under construction was on fire.
Fire crews extinguished the fire by 10:30 p.m. Ashmead said two apartment buildings under construction are total losses and a third suffered some damage. No one was injured and no one was displaced.
Ashmead said 20 fire trucks and 75 firefighters responded to the fire. Fire departments from DFW International Airport, Hurst, Euless, Southlake, Flower Mound and Keller were among neighboring departments that helped Grapevine firefighters battle the flames.
The homepage of it's website as well as many users of NBC DFW Facebook Fan Page said residents had recently begun moving into the complex.
