Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon when their helicopter made a hard landing at a Wise County airport.
Officials reported Bell Jet Ranger 206B came down at the Decatur Municipal Airport at about 3 p.m. A section of the helicopter's tail was ripped off during the hard landing.
Two people were taken to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur where they are being treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the hard landing is not yet known.
FAA records show the helicopter is owned by MBM Aviation Consultants out of Wilmington, Delaware. There is a similarly marked blue and yellow helicopter, also owned by MBM Aviation Consultants, that landed nearby. A third blue and yellow helicopter, owned by a different Delaware company landed at the scene just after 4 p.m.
