Cadets with the Tarrant County College police and fire academies lined up to run 9.11 miles Friday morning in remembrance of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon 14 years ago.
The event, which was organized by the Tarrant County College Police and Fire Academies, began at 6:45 a.m. at the Northwest Campus of the Fire Service Training Center Tower Building.
Scott Donaldson who is with Tarrant County College was actually in the police academy on September 11, 2001. Donaldson says he's thinking about the people who would want to be out here running that can't.
Between 100 and 150 cadets were expected to participate in the 5th annual Memorial Run.
Participants in the event also had the option of running a shorter 5K.
