Burleson police have arrested a man they say was behind the wheel in a deadly hit-and-run crash Tuesday night.
A passing driver called 911 at about 11 p.m. Tuesday to report seeing a motorcyclist unresponsive in the 1800 block of East Renfro Street. Officials identified the victim as 38-year-old Clayton Stokes, of Burleson.
Connor Dylan Caldwell, 21, was arrested Wednesday after police said evidence they discovered at the scene led them to identify the make, model and color of the vehicle that allegedly caused the crash. A Ford F-150 pickup matching the description was located at an area auto body shop Wednesday.
Investigators said it appears the truck struck the motorcycle from behind and fled the scene.
Caldwell faces a second-degree felony charge for an accident involving death, which is punishable by a prison term of two to 20 years and a fine up to $10,000.
