Dallas ISD graduate Jared Brown danced his way through high school to a full scholarship at The Juilliard School and now a performance at The Kennedy Center.
And along the way, stopped at the White House.
Brown was among the 160 students in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognized for accomplishments in educational, artistic and civic pursuits. The students were in Washington, D.C. weekend for the official recognition.
Brown found his passion for dance at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in the Dallas Independent School District.
During that time, he was also a member of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre Allegro Performing Ensemble where he received weekly dance training and ongoing performing experience.
Brown's fellow dancer at Booker T, graduate Kaylin Sturtevant also received a presidential medal during the ceremony from Education Secretary John King.

Brown and Sturtevant not only danced their way on the streets of Washington D.C., but they have been rehearsing with actress/choreographer Debbie Allen to perform at the Kennedy Center with other artistic Presidential Scholars Monday night.
