Seventeen-year-old Cade Gober is taking his passion for yo-yos all the way to 2012 World Yo-Yo Contest, where he’ll compete against yo-yo enthusiasts from 22 countries.
Using a yo-yo is much more than a past time for 17-year-old Cade Gober.
He is heading to Orlando, Fla., to test his skills against 200 yo-yo players for the title of world yo-yo champion.
The contest is divided by different yo-yo styles. Gober knows many of them, impressing people everywhere he goes -- including his parents.
"When they say, 'How do you do that?' I always answer that with one word -- 'Carefully,'" he said.
Gober quickly taught himself the different techniques and tricks after buying a yo-yo at a local store when he was 10 years old.
"I consider it more than a hobby, I consider it part of my life," he said. "It's just what I love to do."
Gober and his dexterous hands aren't planning to put down his yo-yo anytime soon. He said he hopes to join professional yo-yo team later in his life.
