A Dallas police officer was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with sexually assaulting a woman near Dallas Love Field airport, according to authorities.
Police said 44-year-old Officer David Kattner called the victim, a known prostitute, and asked her to meet him in the 9700 block of Webb Chapel Road while he was working an extra job.
Our partners at The Dallas Morning News shared the arrest warrant affidavit that stated detectives working the area witnessed Kattner questioning the victim when she was about to leave the area. The warrant indicates that Kattner was in uniform and a marked patrol car when he called the victim.
The victim told detectives that Kattner, a 26-year veteran on the force, sexually assaulted her twice before and threatened her by showing her outstanding warrants and telling her he "knew where her daughter lived."
Dallas police said they took Kattner into custody at about 1:20 a.m. They will not release his picture while the investigation is ongoing.
Detectives said they are trying to find if there are more victims connected to this case.
A Dallas County Jail staffer said Kattner was released Sunday. Police said he will be placed on administrative leave depending on the outcome of the investigation.
