All westbound lanes of Interstate 30 are back open after a truck hauling scrap apparently struck the St. Francis Avenue overpass Thursday morning in Dallas.[[320919441,R]]
The Dallas County Sheriff's Office said the truck collided with the bridge and closed all westbound lanes of the highway while crews inspected a support beam underneath the overpass and cleaned up debris.
The right two lanes of westbound I-30 were back open by about 11:40 a.m., and bridge inspectors for the Texas Department of Transportation cleared the bridge and allowed for all lanes to reopen by about 3:20 p.m.
The support beam had visible damage and appears to have been bent in the collision, but the St. Francis Avenue overpass is open to traffic.
