The trial for the man accused of killing famed Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle has been delayed.
Last month, the Stephenville Empire-Tribune reported the date for the trial for Eddie Ray Routh was in jeopardy due to a dispute over DNA testing.
Routh, 26, remains jailed on $3 million bond, accused of fatally shooting Kyle and friend Chad Littlefield at an Erath County gun range.
This week, Routh's defense has asked for more time to comply with a new state law that expands DNA testing in death penalty cases. The paper reported Judge Jason Cashon granted a motion for continuance earlier this week.
It is not yet known how much more time is needed to complete the testing.
A date for a new trial has not yet been set.
