An Amber Alert had been issued Sunday after Twinkle Twinkie Twilight, also known as Twinkle Miles, went missing. She was visiting her biological mother — 42-year-old Vicki Lynn Dixon (Miles) — in Fort Worth, when Dixon took off with the girl, according to authorities.
Officers found the child safe in a house near Hanger Street and Collard Avenue, according to Fort Worth Police Department spokesman Daniel Segura.
"For us out here, that's all we cared about," Fort Worth Police Department Lt. R.L. Krouse said. "Officers I work with, they didn't want to leave. They wanted to see it out to the end."
Police said they were conducting a house-to-house search in the area when they received a tip from Dixon's husband, Donald Dixon, who said his wife tapped on his window at about 5 a.m. He said he looked outside and saw her holding the child.
"I didn't want the baby catching pneumonia or nothing," he said. "And I want her to go and get some help, because she's not a criminal. She's just got a little problem."
Police said they found Dixon and the child in a home shortly after. The home's residents were not aware of the situation and were trying offer shelter for mother and child, according to police. No criminal charges are expected against them.
Police said criminal charges are expected to be filed against Dixon.

Donald Dixon said he wasn't shocked to learn his wife took the child from her foster home.
"She said, 'When I see my baby today, I'm going to get her and run,'" he said. "I said, 'You do that, and you'll never see that baby again. And you're going to jail.'"
Child Protective Services gained custody of the toddler in June, according to police. She had been placed in foster care.
