Five people have been arrested and are now behind bars as police investigate the kidnapping and death of 13-year-old Shavon Randle, who was found dead early Sunday.
Arrest affidavits say her abduction started as retaliation for stolen drugs and that the teen was taken for ransom.
Her body was found inside an abandoned home in South Oak Cliff along with the body of 19-year-old Michael Titus, who police had previously called a person of interest in her disappearance.
So far no one has been charged for the deaths.
On Monday the medical examiner determined that Titus's death was a homicide from a gunshot wound to the head. The cause of Shavon's death is not yet known.
Police say the latest suspect to be arrested in this case, 21-year-old Desmond Jones, led detectives to that abandoned home on Keist Boulevard and allegedly said while outside "RIP to her and Mike T."

In the arrest affidavit, police say Jones "began to shake and became visibly upset" when outside the house.
Moments later they found the bodies inside.
Police say they believe that Jones knew that both Shavon and Titus had been murdered. Jones is charged with failure to report a felony resulting in death, but not charged in the kidnapping.
Other affidavits revealed what happened in the days after Shavon's abduction.
Investigators say a family member of Shavon Randle was dating a man who stole drugs from two people.
The affidavit goes on to detail that those two people were Devontae Owens and Darius Fields, and they kidnapped Randle in retaliation for the drug theft.
Cellphone analysis placed Owens near Shavon's home in Lancaster, about 15 miles south of Dallas.
Owens's and Shavon's phones had traveled in the same direction until Shavon's phone was shut off, the affidavit said.
Devontae Owens, 24, is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on aggravated kidnapping charges. He was named as a person of interest on Friday.
Laquon Wilkerson, 30, was moved from the Tri Cities Jail in Desoto to the Dallas County Jail. He's being held on aggravated kidnapping charges. He was identified as a person of interest as well, and arrested by the FBI on Saturday.
Darius Fields, 26, is currently being held in the City of Irving Jail. He was identified as a person of interest on Friday, but is being held on charges unrelated to the kidnapping of Shavon Randle.
Michael Titus, 19, was identified as a person of interest in the kidnapping of Shavon Randle on Friday. His body was found inside the abandoned home in Dallas where Randle's body was found Sunday morning.
Laporshya Polley, 25, is currently being held in the City of Irving Jail. She was also identified as a person of interest on Friday, but is also being held on charges unrelated to the kidnapping of Shavon Randle.
It's not immediately clear if the four being held had attorneys.
Titus's death has been ruled a homicide from a gunshot wound to the head, officials said Monday. Randle's cause of death is not yet known.
