Authorities have identified the remains of Adriana Coronado, the 14-year-old who was reported missing after her father was found fatally shot, Houston police say.
In a statement Friday evening, the Houston Police Department said a body found Wednesday near a road in northwest Houston was positively identified through fingerprint analysis.
An Amber Alert was issued earlier this week for Adriana, who had last been seen in Katy, a Houston suburb, last Saturday.
The girl's father, Cesar Vladimir Coronado, was found dead the following day, his burned body dumped near a ditch in a rural area in Walker County, about 80 miles north of Houston. Investigators believe Adriana might have been with her father when he was killed.
A cause of death for Adriana is pending, Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said Friday.
Houston Police say the investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
There were several unidentified female bodies found in Houston this week, NBC affiliate KPRC reported, and the medical examiner's office is working to identify them.
