A fire in a room at the Holiday Inn off state Highway 183 in Bedford forced hundred of guests into the parking lot early Friday morning.
Fire alarms started going off at about 3:30 a.m. inside the hotel at 3005 Airport Freeway. As guests began to evacuate, witnesses said smoke began to fill the hallways.
When firefighters responded, they found a small fire inside one of the hotel rooms on the first floor. Inside the room, a burned desk and wall were visible from the outside of the hotel. Nearby, an iron and ironboard were also burned.
By 6:30 a.m., most guests were allowed to return to their rooms.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
