It's Day 5 of the 2017 State Fair of Texas. Here's 5 things you need to know before heading to the fair on Tuesday.
- The "Play with your Food" contest kicks off the day at 9 a.m. This event is a competition where you can make a work of art, otherwise known as a "foodscape," with your food. The competition is held in the Creative Arts Competition Kitchen.
- After the "Play with your Food" contest, the Great American SPAM Championship takes over. Contestants must create a dish with at least one 12 ounce can of SPAM. This competition (which you don't want to miss) can also be found in the Creative Arts Competition Kitchen.
- Don't miss the adorable Pee Wee Stampede at the Ranch Arena. This is where kids can put on a show and mock rodeo events. There's stick horse races and even stick "horse" bulls. No doubt you will be laughing out loud at this event.
- If live music is more your style, check out the Kevin Bailey Band on the Dr. Pepper Stage. There's also a nice grassy area nearby to relax with your friends and family.
- For the extreme sports fan, don't miss the Lords of Gravity Basketball Slam Dunk Show. This team comes all the way from Budapest, Hungary and you don't want to miss the high flying stunts. The show can be found at the Xtreme Sports Zone close to the Chevrolet ride & drive.
